The Rushville Public Library is supported by property tax dollars of those residing or owning property within the city limits. Therefore, patrons who reside within the Rushville city limits or who own property within the city limits may receive a free library card.
According to Indiana State law, patrons who do not reside within the city limits or do not own property within the city limits must pay a fee to check out items from the Rushville Public Library. This fee is determined by the state. Presently this state-mandated fee is $55 per adult per year; $75 per couple or family per year; $5 per student (Preschool - 12th Grade) per school year (August - May); and $3 per student (Preschool - 12th Grade) per summer (June - August).
To apply for a Rushville Public Library card, just ask at the front desk! Be sure to bring proof of your current residency. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Everyone is welcome at the Rushville Public Library no matter where they live!
The library resources (including computers and Internet) are free for all to use within the library.
Fees only apply to patrons wishing to borrow library items.
